Maxine Kay Walling

Maxine Kay Walling, 86, of Florence, Mississippi, formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023. She was born on March 12, 1937, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Gideon and Viola (Baker) Riesen. She was a long-time member at Northeast Christian Church, Fort Wayne. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music and sermons, and enjoyed crafting. She worked as a camera department manager. Surviving family include her children, Mindy (Rick) Nelson, Jonathan (Annie) Walling, Andrew (Karen) Walling, and Becky (Mike) Lopez; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Thomas John Walling; son, David Paul Walling; and sister, Betty Jean Sprunger. Funeral service will be 12:00 pm on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Maxine’s name may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
