Nancy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Harry Schrimp and Carol Conrey, and her siblings, Susan Lambert and Michael Conrey.
Nancy was born on November 26, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She gave her life to Jesus Christ in the 1970s. From that moment on, she lived her life with the love and kindness of Christ and faithfully led others to Him. She loved to cook, bake, clean, work in her yard, and stay busy. She especially loved baking for anyone and everyone—family, friends, neighbors, clients, doctors, nurses, and anyone else who crossed her path. She never came to a family gathering without bringing an abundance of homemade food. Our one requirement was that she bring her potato salad and her chocolate chip cookies. You never visited her home without hearing, “Are you hungry?” or “Would you like something to eat?” She truly loved feeding people. Nancy also spent many years cleaning homes. She loved her clients so much that she never wanted to give up her cleaning career and continued working for them until just before her 79th birthday. Her clients meant so much to her, and they loved her dearly in return. The relationships she built through her work became lasting friendships, and caring for others brought her great joy. Nancy loved helping others and was always thinking of everyone else before herself. She cared deeply for people and was always willing to lend a hand. She was selfless, kind, compassionate, and generous. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and often made us laugh without even trying. Nancy and Jerry shared a beautiful and unique love story. They met as teenagers, fell in love, and married. Though they later divorced and each remarried, they never forgot one another and always held each other in their hearts. Twenty-two years ago, they rekindled their love and remarried. Nancy would often leave little love notes taped to walls and doors throughout their home for Jerry to find. She was a truly special person who touched countless lives with her kindness, faith, and love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with interment expenses.
