Nedrick Noel 'Ned" Miller

Ned was the beloved husband of Carol J. Clark, who survives him. He was a devoted father to Holly R. Wenning and Andrew M. Miller, and a proud grandfather to Miller Kirby and Lillian Miller. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Dearduff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Miller (Campbell) and Charles R. Miller, as well as his former wife, Shari J. (Benninghoff) Miller.

Ned graduated from high school in Huntertown, Indiana. He went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965, where he worked as a dental assistant stationed near the Korean Demilitarized Zone.

Following his military service, Ned built a long and successful career in real estate in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He worked as a real estate agent and was also an entrepreneur and co-owner of Associated Brokers Real Estate, where he helped guide clients and colleagues with integrity, knowledge, and dedication. Through his profession, he was able to build lasting relationships he built over decades in the industry.

Ned also enjoyed working with his hands and expressing his creativity through commercial painting, a skill he learned from his mentor and friend “Charlie.” In his younger years, he excelled in basketball and spent a semester at Indiana University, where he tried out for the Hoosiers—an experience he often remembered fondly.

Faith was an important part of Ned’s life. He was previously a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church and most recently attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.

Above all, Ned will be remembered for his love of family and his extraordinary gift of storytelling. He was a captivating storyteller whose humor, detail, and warmth brought his experiences to life and left lasting impressions on all who knew him. His stories will continue to be shared and cherished for generations.

Ned loved traveling with his family, especially trips to Mexico and time spent across the Great Plains of the western United States. Lake Hamilton, Indiana, was another cherished place where he enjoyed gathering with family and friends and making lasting memories.

Ned lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, service, family, and friendship. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will be held with love and gratitude.

A calling to honor Ned’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
