PAULA K. HENKEL, 100, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, in Tucson, Ariz. Born May 18, 1911 in Van Wert, Ohio, she had been a foster parent in Fort Wayne for many years and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Surviving are son, Richard (Doris) Henkel of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Jane (Jerry) Evans of New Haven; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt, in 2002; two sisters; and one brother. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Jeff Geisler officiating. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
