
RAYMOND FRANK SMITH, 74, of Fort Wayne, died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born May 15, 1935, in Indianapolis, he was a resident of Fort Wayne since 1966. He was a graduate of Purdue University. He retired from Clark Food Services after 29 years of service. After retirement, he worked part time at Vorderman Motor Werks. He was a member of Elkhart Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Mizpah Temple where he played trumpet in the Shrine Band, St. Joseph United Methodist Church where he played trumpet in the church brass ensemble; and American Legion Post 47 where he played the trumpet. Surviving are his wife, Nancy L.; son, Murray Smith; daughter, Debra Peek; sister, Alice Jean Smith; stepsons, Roger Cole and Rick Cole; stepdaughter, Robin Leonesio; 10 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial service is 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road. The Rev. Russ Abel officiating. Private burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
