Obituary of Rebecca S. Joseph
Rebecca Sue Joseph, 56, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Verle and Estella (Pauken) Wagner. Becky was first and foremost a Christ follower and was a member of Pathway Community Church in Fort Wayne for 13 years. She had an undeniable sprit of helping and serving others, and demonstrated unconditional love to everyone she touched. Whether she was on a mission trip to Serbia or working with women at Freedom Hall, she used her God given gift of relating, inspiring and impacting the lives of others. She also was involved with both Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and Wings of Hope. Most recently, she invested her time and gifts by helping others to put Christ at the center of their lives through improving spiritual, mental and physical health in the Lose it for Life/Center Your Journey ministries. Pete and Becky were intentional in welcoming various friends and family into their home to help them through rough and challenging points in their lives. Becky held various roles and leadership positions at three local companies during her insurance career. She began her career at Lincoln National Life immediately after high school as a clerical worker, and worked her way up to Vice President, Director of Operations. While raising a family and working full time, she completed her Bachelor's degree at IPFW and continued on to Medical Protective and, most recently, Brotherhood Mutual. Although she was proud of her work, what inspired her were the relationships and friendships that she formed along the way. This is where she found her true meaning. She loved taking walks and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoyed biking, camping at Yogi, and playing Catan. She is survived by her husband, Peter Joseph of Fort Wayne; son, Ben (Becky) Joseph of Grabill; daughter, Jessica (Mike) Klage of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Ethan, Carson, Anna, and Christopher; brothers, Gary (Mary) Wagner and Larry (Bev) Wagner, both of Fort Wayne; and two sisters, Sandy Lewis of Auburn and Debbie (Greg) Brattain of New Haven. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rose Ramey (Gary) Brown of Andrews. Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00am at Pathway Community Church, 11910 Shearwater Run, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 3-7pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial at Williamsport Cemetery, Poe.
