Rebecca L. “Nita” Sordelet, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on Friday, July 30, 1948, in Lynch, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Grace and Sarah (Hall) Shaw. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne and was a retired teachers aide.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry L. Sordelet; sons, Steve (Raquel) Hanic, Chad Hanic, Nick (Ashley) Sordelet, and Timothy R. Sordelet; siblings, John (Kathy) Shaw, Mary Swaidner and Darlene (Jeff) Smith; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jon Sordelet; and sister Ann Henery.
Funeral service will be 1pm Monday, December 7, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling will also be held from 2 to 6pm, Sunday December 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association
