Shirley D Mullins

Shirley D Mullins, a resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 21, 1936, in Montcoal, West Virginia, Shirley was a daughter of the late Kiley Jarrell and Blanche Hill.

She was a member of Shoaff Park Baptist Church. She had a love for children, and through that avenue, she faithfully served in the church nursery for over 50 years. Shirley was a diehard Komets hockey fan, having the same seats since 1971, never having missed a game in over 20 years. She played on the women's church softball team and also loved Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves Baseball. She worked at GE for 24 years, where she retired in 1988.

She is survived by her daughter, Dena England (Denny), and her son, Ron Mullins (Susan); grandchildren, Josh (Brianne) Cherry, Danielle (Jason) Sheets, Ronda (Greg) Heine, Cami (Jason) Renz, Kendra (Josh) Rorick, Josiah Sherrill; and great-grandchildren, Cayden, River, Mia, Madison, Emma, Malia, Mason, Sam, Kinsley, Vincent, Theia, and Maggie; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles "Mickey" Jarrell. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, a dear family friend and faithful caregiver, Shelley Igney.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Elmer Ray Mullins Sr.; son, Elmer "Tinker" Ray; daughter, Nancy Rorick; and siblings, Jerry Jarrell, Randall Price, Johnny Allen and Sharon Pauley.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am with with calling one hour prior on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46835.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025, also at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Eel River Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shoaff Park Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a warm appreciation to Kary Lawson, her caregiver for the past two years. Also thanks to the Parkview Hospice West Team, as well as Dr. Nicholas Zehner and nurse, Gail Collard for all their love and care.
