Stephanie Lynn Welbaum

Stephanie Lynn Welbaum, 68, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on October 20, 2026, at her residence. She was born May 5, 1958, in Fort Wayne to the late Richard and Beverly (Benz) Schweizer. She graduated from Northrop High School in 1976 in Fort Wayne and she acquired a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University. Stephanie worked as an Internal Auditor/Accountant for Lincoln LIFE, and Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon returning to Fort Wayne, she worked for Verizon/Frontier and then Fort Financial Credit Union and retired in 2023. Stephanie married Chris Welbaum on November 21, 1998, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Stephanie had a love for cooking/baking, reading, a fan of Billy Joel, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, IU sports and Indiana Fever basketball, and organizing and hosting family get togethers for the holidays. She deeply loved her children from a previous marriage and all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant grandson Ethan Seibert.

Stephanie is survived by her husband Chris, children, Joshua (Crystal) Seibert and Kevin Seibert, grandchildren, Alanna, Gabrielle, Hayden, Jackson and Eryn; Fur baby, Bella, siblings, John Schweizer, Elizabeth Struckholz, Kathleen (Kevin) Martin, Cynthia (Jim) Gabbard; and, a number of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 14, 2026, at Messiah Lutheran located at 7211 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Showing at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am.
