Stephen J. "Steve" Beres

Stephen J. "Steve" Beres, 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 after battling a long illness. Steve was born on October 31, 1949 in Gary, Indiana, a son of the late Stephen Frank and Mary (Kozel) Beres. He graduated from Andrean High School and later Purdue University, West Lafayette. Steve worked as an ink formulator for Flint Ink in Chicago and Warsaw.

Stephen was a worldwide traveler. His passport remains a testament to a full life, stamped with adventures across Africa, Europe, Russia, Mexico, the U.S. national parks, and Canada. He loved life in all its dimensions, and shared his experiences with his best friend Sue. Although Steve left this world early, he and Sue enjoyed a good, long life together filled with love, joy, and many journeys.

Surviving family include his wife, Susan Beres; step sons, Rachid and Bradley; step grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Jet, Adam, Tabatha, Sara, and Sam; sister, Maryann; nieces Staci and Stephanie; and numerous cousins. Beside his parents, Steve was preceded in passing by his sister, Irene.

Per Steve's request, no services are planned at this time. One of Steve's final wishes was to have his ashes spread in many of his favorite places within Yellowstone National Park.
