Stephen Michael Mentzer, 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born on March 11, 1959 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Daniel and Jane (Barnes) Mentzer. Stephen was employed with Creative Coatings, Inc., for nearly six years and enjoyed rock music, the beach, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Stephen’s family and friends will always remember his sense of humor; he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Newhouse) Mentzer of Fort Wayne; three children; six grandchildren; and one brother. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1:00pm Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
