Born on December 10, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Robert and Virginia Hollister, Ginny lived a life of love, laughter, and the grace she extended to all around her. Though her journey on Earth may have ended, her laughter, love, and adventurous heart will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
We will miss her deeply and remember her with love. She leaves behind a loving family who cherished her deeply: her devoted siblings, Judi (Hollister) Sauer of Aiken, South Carolina; Diane (Hollister) Marbaugh of Albion, IN; Russ Hollister of Ossian, IN; and Pattie (Hollister) Phipps of Fort Wayne, IN. She had two daughters, Michelle Stroet of Santa Cruz, CA, and Heather Ricks of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as well as six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. It was hard for her to be part of their lives. Each of
them carries a piece of her spirit and continues her legacy of kindness and joy.
Ginny was known for her sweet smile and infectious laughter, and her wit could liven up any room. Her adventurous spirit led her on countless journeys, from the quiet paths of Lakeside Park, where she found solace in nature, to the vast, calming ocean while visiting her daughter in California. Through her love of decorating, Ginny had an innate ability to transform any space into a welcoming home filled with warmth and beauty.
There will be no services for her, but the family will hold a private celebration of life for Ginny at a later date. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever grace the lives of those privileged to have known her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Stillwater Hospice for the attentive, compassionate care provided to Ginny in her final days. In light of her lifelong struggles with mental illness, the family kindly suggests that donations be made in Ginny's memory to Stillwater Hospice of Fort Wayne, IN.
