

WALLACE C. BORCHELT, 82, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his residence. Born May 16, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Waldemar & Hilda Borchelt. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1993 from W.C. Borchelt & Sons Heating & Air Conditioning which he founded 50 years ago. He was a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Faith Lutheran Church in Churubusco, Lutheran Laymen's League, Gideon's International, and Christ Child Festival. Surviving are his wife, Reta; children, Ed (Sue) Borchelt, Phil (Jane) Borchelt, Ellen (Mike) Dixon, Pauline Reinking, Yvonne (David) Grieger, Bill (Kristie) Borchelt, Lora (Doug) Clausman, Jennifer (Tony) Lynn, Ben (Nicole) Borchelt, Becky (Mo) Bunnell, and Sarah (Jim) Cotter; 39 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Borchelt and Kenneth (Lois) Borchelt; and sisters, Eileen (Charles) Felton, Martha (Don) Bielke and Carolyn (Roger) Macke. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, in 1995; sister, Lucille Downey; and brother, Donald Borchelt. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Lane Burgland and the Rev. James Cotter officiating. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
