

Weldon was born August 17th, 1937 near Malinta, OH. He was the oldest child of Ernest Meienburg and Irene nee Behrens.
He was baptized in his parents’ home on September 5th, 1937.
He was confirmed on March 18th, 1951, at Peace Lutheran Church. His memory verse was. "Fear not: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." Gen 15.1
Weldon married Marlene Mohrman August 31st, 1956. They were married for 64 years. Marlene passed away January 15th, 2021.
They moved to Fort Wayne, IN, where Weldon worked at Fruehauf and received his master’s degree from Saint Francis College. Weldon started his employment with Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company in August of 1967. Weldon was transferred to Hopkinsville, KY where they lived for 4 years. They came back to Fort Wayne for a brief time and moved to Hermitage, TN for 20 years. Weldon and Marlene moved back to Fort Wayne, IN on December 15th, 2020. Weldon always enjoyed being an active member in the Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Layman’s League.
Weldon retired from Phelps Magnet Wire Company in July of 1998.
Weldon’s hobbies included gardening, traveling in the RV to visit family and friends, opening a Christmas store, doll shows and enjoying polka fests. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching the great- grandchildren, picking and processing the garden vegetables and playing with the chickens and pigs.
Weldon is survived by five siblings, Larry Meienburg, Eilert Meienburg, Connie Huener, Linda Oberhouse and Janis Oberhouse.
Weldon is the father of four children, Lynette Rasmussen of Golden Colorado, Glynn Meienburg of Big Pine Key Florida, CoLette Schlegel of New Haven Indiana and Jahn Meienburg of Boonesville Arkansas. Weldon has eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Weldon was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Irene (Behrens) Meienburg of Malinta, Ohio. He was married to Marlene Mohrman for almost 65 years, and they lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Texas, and Tennessee. Marlene died in 2021.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at St John Lutheran Church, 16035 Co Rd U, Napoleon, OH 43545. Calling will be held one hour prior.
