WILLIAM W. BADE, 100, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born Feb. 7, 1911, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late William and Anna Bade. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1940, and founded the Bade Insurance Agency in 1958, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church; was the oldest living member of Fort Wayne Turners; a board member of Concordia Cemetery Association for over 50 years; and graduated from North Side High school in 1929. Surviving are sons, Stephen W. Bade (fianceé, Kathy S. Foster) of Fort Wayne, Bruce J. (Kathleen) Bade of Hartford City, Ronald J. (Beth) Bade of Fort Wayne, and Ned H. (Connie) Bade of Fort Mill, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Imogene, in 2005. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Theodore Taykowski and the Rev. Russ Dewell officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Fort Wayne Turners.
