It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Lee" Breidenstein, Jr., who left us on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Lee was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on October 25, 1959 in Janesville, Wisconsin, Lee lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patti (Burns) Breidenstein, who stood by his side through thick and thin; his parents, Bill and Marla; sisters, Karen (Mike) Lou and Barb (Shawn) Sharp; brothers, Brad (Mindy) and Keith (Jocelyn). Lee's legacy continues through his children, Bradley (Monica), Brenda (Josh) Kearby, Kathy (Tyson), and Billy (Britney). He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished the special moments they shared.
Lee's heart was further enriched by his precious grandchildren, Brittany, Anikah, Jamoni, Jamyla, Jalene, Aubrey, Tyreece Jr., Bradley Jr., Parker, and unborn grandchild of Kathy and Tyson, as well as his great grandchild, Elijah. He adored them beyond measure, and they will forever carry his love in their hearts.
Lee worked at and retired after 40 years at General Motors and the local UAW. He was a man of many talents and interests, and was always willing to jump in and help out wherever needed. He had a warm and welcoming spirit that drew people to him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and had a passion for bowling that began at an early age where he played, coached, and spent many years serving on the Fort Wayne Bowling Association Board of Directors. His passion for bowling brought him to his time as an assistant coach for the Wayne Generals High School Bowling Team for several years and led him to compete in the Nationals tournament as well where he bowled up until he was no longer able to do so.
He also enjoyed football (especially watching the Green Bay Packers) and golf (he was a big fan of Steve Stricker), hunting, fishing, and sharing stories with others. Lee had a deep appreciation for nature, and his love for the great outdoors was nothing short of infectious.
His legacy of love, kindness, and enduring family bonds will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Lee's memory will be cherished, and his presence greatly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date, further information to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.
