Yvonne C. Calhoun Joyner

YVONNE C. JOYNER, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Coventry Meadows. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. She worked at National Mill Supply and was a foster grandparent. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Foster Grandparents at Day Break and board of directors for Allen County Council on Aging. She is survived by a daughter, Leslie (Tom) Remenschnieder of Fort Wayne; sons, Bruce (Joani) Joyner and Dr. Rex Joyner, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Gretchen, Denise, Melissa, Daniel and Teresa; great-grandchildren, Steven, Caitlyn, Chris, Sarah, and Ian; and great-great-grandchildren, Camden and Ilianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leslie G. Joyner; son, Neil Joyner in 1955; brother, John R. Calhoun; and sister, Arline Birdman. Service is 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Peace Lutheran Church, 4900 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne. Visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo, Mich. Arrangements by Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home. Preferred memorials to Foster Grandparents or Peace Lutheran Church.
