Alan Gene Davis

June 24, 1949 – September 30, 2026

Alan Davis left this world surrounded by family on the evening of September 30, 2026. Alan was born on June 24,1949 in Longmont, Colorado to Lydia and Jake Davis. He married Leslie J. Hinshaw on February 12, 1982, and together they had three children.

Alan is survived by his three children Mallory, Haley and Zachary and numerous extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Lydia and Jake and his wife Leslie.

As a kid, Alan moved a lot due to his father’s work in mining and rock drilling. He lived in Montana and various cities along Colorado’s front range and western slope before settling in Colorado Springs. He graduated 24th in his class from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.

Alan was an avid car lover, and his favorites were Ford Mustangs. His first Mustang was a 1965 convertible. Alan would compete in car events like drag racing, autocross and rallies. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Mustangers Club where he met Leslie and over the years they shared ownership of several Mustang models.

After they married, Leslie and Alan settled in Widefield where they raised their children and, after some convincing, many pets including cats, birds, fish and rats. He retired after working twenty years for EEE Trucking.

After retirement Alan enjoyed relaxing with car racing video games, puzzles and watching game shows and sports. He was a lifelong fan of NASCAR, football and hockey. He always cheered on the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche.

Alan loved rock and roll, and his all-time favorite band was The Beatles. He shared his love of good music with his kids.

As the “King of Dad Jokes,” Alan will be remembered for his witty sense of humor. He will also be remembered as a hard-working, kind and supportive man. Alan was an amazing father and husband who was always there for his family. He will be forever missed.

A visitation will be held at Dove Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US HWY 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817, US, on October 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
