Anni L. Golter

Anni L. Golter, 94, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on July 11, 2026. Born December 21, 1931, Anni will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection as a beloved, faithful, and devoted presence—someone whose gentle strength and steady honesty shaped the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Raised in Germany, Anni came from a large German family of three girls and five boys and was an identical twin. Her twin sister passed away this past April, a loss felt profoundly within the family. Anni completed all of her schooling in Germany, carrying forward the resilience and grounded values formed in her early years.

Anni worked hard throughout her life, most often as a domestic cleaner, providing dependable service for others with quiet dignity and care. She also briefly worked as an orderly of sorts for a mental facility. In every role, Anni’s compassion and thoughtful nature showed through in the way she approached people—steadfast, kind-hearted, and selfless, with a generosity that was, as many would say, “to a fault—anything for anybody.”

Anni and Fritz Golter were married for 50 years. During 22 years as a military wife, Anni’s loyalty and devotion were constant, offering a steady home and a faithful heart through the demands of military life.

Anni is survived by her daughter Rose Martinez (Golter), grandson Dustin Duran and his wife Jessica, great grandsons Marcus, Lucas, and Gabriel.

Anni found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: she loved to read, tend flower beds, and socialize. She loved birds and cats; animals in general. She especially looked forward to hosting coffee once a month—welcoming the ladies into her home for German pastries and cakes, conversation, and laughter. Her warmth as a hostess reflected the same generous spirit she offered in every part of life, making others feel cared for and included.

She was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association (TREA) and, for the last 20 years or so, the Society of Military Widows—communities that reflected her enduring connection to service, commitment, and fellowship. Anni also delighted in dressing up for Halloween and Mardi Gras, and she enjoyed dancing and singing to music. She liked cooking and taking walks, moving through life with a gentle energy and a resilient, grateful heart.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the Abode Hospice Care nurses, especially Kris; to the caretakers at home—Sandra, Tuesday, and Yvonne; to friends Doris, Ottie, and Sandy; and to Christina at the nursing facility, for their kindness, support, and faithful care.

A Memorial Service will be held at Dove Witt Family Mortuary, on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11am
