Kathy, I am so sorry for what you are going through.  It is so terribly hard to lose a parent.  Thinking of you.

I enjoyed the visits when Arleen came to California, She was always in good spirits and fun shopping and going to the ocean, I will always remember Arleen
in Her Purple outfits with her beautiful smile she always had with everybody she met

It broke our hearts to lose you,

It is never easy to say good bye to our Mother, and I know you gave her a wonderful life and she knew how much you cared.  Just remember, to be absent from this earthly body is to be basking in the presence of our Lord, whole and free of pain and suffering.  I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Happy Birthday Mom! I know you are in a better place now and won't be so frustrated with your self that you can't do the things you so loved to do. You don't even know how much I miss you and our phone calls every night. I am so thankful I got to see you every day your last week, playing cards and visiting. I got to give you your last meal, tell you I love you with hugs and kisses and you told me you loved me too. 
Here is the card I bought you that pretty much says it all:
"Dear Mom, on your birthday, I want to say thank you-For raising me. For my happy childhood. For standing back and turning me loose. For letting me make my mistakes. For helping me clean up my messes. For loving me that much. For deftly balancing just what I wanted and just what I needed. For birthdays, holidays, and unforgettable every days. For treats just because. For being on my side. For putting me in my place when I was smart-alecky. For putting me in a better place anytime I'm down. For making it all better- and I do mean all. For being my mom. For being a friend. For being the best. I love you, Happy Birthday." You were the most, loving, caring, giving mom ever. Always there for your family no matter what they needed.  There is a hole in my heart that will never mend. I will remember all our good times, love, miss and cherish you forever.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your beloved mother. I remember what a friendly and kind person she was when she let us stay at her home when we went to Denver for a concert. We sat around the kitchen table and talked a mile a minute, went out to eat and hopefully she enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed hers. Treasure your memories and she will be forever alive in your heart.

Granny was the most caring and loving person in the world she was always there when I needed her and I was happy to help take care of her this last year. She cared for everyone who was in her life and loved so many people. She had a really big heart and she will never be forgotten I will truely miss her and cant stand to sit here and think that she is gone. Granny was the light of my life and I am not sure how I will keep that light burning now.  I am going to miss her so much! She was the kindest, most loving person I know!  She touched every person she came in touch with no matter how little or how long she knew them.  She always had a smile on her face no matter what.  She was the BEST!

Kathy, it is so hard to put into words what I feel about "Auntie Arlene's" passing.  I have so many wonderful memories of times that we have spent together in Denver, the mountains and Barnard.  She will always have a very special place in my heart and I am going to miss her very much.  I wish that I could be there with you, Kathy, to help shoulder your pain; the loss that you feel and all the questions that you might have.  I will cherish those "special times" I had with her.  Auntie Arlene was a beautiful, loving person who has blessed by life and I am grateful to God for allowing  me to have this treasure.  I love you all.  Charlotte
