Barbara June Lintner

Barbara June Lintner, 92, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born June 24, 1934, Barbara was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she made her home after returning from Germany in 1966.

Barbara attended Fort Morgan public schools through eighth grade, then left school to begin working—an early step that reflected a steady determination and a lifelong willingness to do what was needed. Later in life, after retirement, she completed classes to earn her GED, a meaningful accomplishment that spoke to her perseverance and quiet resolve.

In 1951, Barbara met John Lintner, and they were married in 1956. Together they built a family of 4 children: James (Ilona Inkofer), Linda Dozier (Steve), Roger Lintner (Deanna Waldrip) and Sandra Lintner; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. As a military wife, she traveled with him to many states and to Germany, building a sense of home wherever they were. After their return to Colorado Springs, Barbara maintained the home while John served two tours in Korea and one in Vietnam—carrying the responsibilities of daily life with strength, constancy, and deep devotion to family.

Barbara began working at Ampex Corporation in 1972 and took an early retirement in 1993. Whether at work or at home, she was known for her diligence and integrity, offering her time and effort without seeking recognition.

Barbara found joy in sewing, crocheting, playing cards, traveling, reading, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Practical and capable, she could fix and repair anything. Her generosity was lived, not announced: she opened her home to those who needed a place to stay and remained ready to help others in any way she could.

A faithful presence at Heritage Pentecostal Church, Barbara attended services at 2950 W. Monica Dr, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80916. Her memorial service will be held there on Thursday, September 17, at 6pm.

Barbara was preceded in passing by her husband, John; her sister, Ruby Louise Higgins; her stepson, James Lintner, and his wife, Ilona Linter; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Barbara will be remembered with respect and gratitude—for her steadfast love, her capable hands, her honest heart, and the quiet, enduring ways she cared for others.
