

Carole Anne Davis, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on October 1, 2025. She was born on October 5, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa, to George and Bernice (Mayrose) Gengler.
Carole graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She was a longtime employee of Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies, where she finished her career as a technical writer and purchasing agent.
A devoted member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Security, Carole found great joy in her faith and community. She loved golfing, kayaking, and hiking in the Colorado mountains, as well as traveling with and visiting family. She will be remembered for her easy-going manner, generous spirit, and the deep care and love she shared with those around her.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Sue Ellen Theis of St. Louis; her sons, Larry (Ann) Davis of Connecticut, and Mike (Mary) Davis of Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Scott, Ryan, Brandi, Cassie, Jennifer, Larry, Jonathan (Stosh), and Steve; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Adeline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mary Hofer and Helen (Jerry) Sturges; and her brother, Eddie Jo Gengler. She is also survived by her brothers, Leo (Christine) Gengler, Jim (Charlene) Gengler, Ken (Marty) Gengler, Robert (Mary Lou) Gengler, and George (Barb) Gengler; and her sisters, Jeanne (John) Stewart and Anne (Chris) Hackett.
Services will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Security, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 14. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church.
