Dante Nicholas Fontecchio, known as “Nick,” passed away in his home with his best friend and loving wife Mary beside him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Nick’s larger-than-life spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Nick was the beloved husband of Mary, his soulmate and partner in life. Together, they shared a blended family that included his six children, two stepdaughters, 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild—each a testament to his legacy of love, strength, and storytelling.
A true Colorado native, Nick lived a full and adventurous life. He was the proud successful business owner of Nick’s Security Body Shop. He was a man of many talents and passions, he was a champion trap shooter, a Golden Gloves boxing champion, and a seasoned outdoorsman. Whether on horseback, out hunting or fishing, or simply enjoying the natural beauty around him, Nick found peace and joy being outdoors.
He was a long-standing member of several gun clubs, where he not only honed his skills but also built cherished friendships. But above all, Nick was one of the best storytellers. His stories brought laughter, wonder, and warmth, and they will be dearly missed, along with the man who told them so well.
Nick lived with passion, strength, and charisma, and those qualities will live on in the many lives he touched.
A small, private service will be held with close family and friends to honor and celebrate Nick’s life.
