David Aaron Barnes

David Aaron Barnes 23, passed away July 29th 2017 from complications of cancer. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on Aug 13th 1993, to Lyle and Charlene Barnes. David graduated from Peyton High School and was 7 classes away from his Bachelors in Business Management at Colorado Christian College. He was preceded in death by his father Lyle Barnes. David is survived by his mother Charlene Barnes of Peyton, CO his sister Melissa Barnes of Las Vegas, NV and brother Trey Barnes of Wichita Falls, TX. He was an avid lover of sports and during his young life had played football, basketball and baseball. David also enjoyed snowboarding, gaming, shooting, fishing and camping. He was a huge Michigan Wolverine, Colorado Rockies, Broncos and Avalanche fan.

David will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He had a smile that could brighten anyone's day. His "we got this" attitude was so contagious that others around him seemed to catch his enthusiasm for life. The thoughtfulness and caring that David had for his family and friends knew no bounds. He was a hero to many and was one of the strongest individuals that walked this earth. Even though his battle with cancer was extremely difficult, he never gave up. David's spirit always persevered, shining through with playfulness, laughter and love. He was truly an amazing young man.

David was a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is now an angel looking down on us.

David’s family would like to thank Dr. Robert Hoyer and the staff at Memorial Hospital, and The University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.

David’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9th 2017 at 1:00pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary. 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87 Fountain, CO. Reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Children’s Hospital Colorado.
