George W. Saye, 92, a long time resident of Colorado Springs was born in Whitehall, Georgia to Clyde
and Mamie Saye. He served in the United States Marine Corp in 1938-1939 and transferred to the
United States Army in 1940, serving under Gen. George Patton for the duration of World War II. He
married Jacqueline J. Key on August 6, 1950 in Lompoc, California. George participated in many
sports including football, softball, boxing, golf and flying, and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He retired from Civil Service at Fort Carson, CO in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Beverly Renz, Jeanne Forbes, and Connie Hughes; six
grandsons, Jason Jones, Jonathan Waker, Chris Waker, Kenneth Forbes, Bryan Forbes, and Sean
Forbes; one granddaughter, Kerri Page; and 2 great grandsons, Ethyn Jones and Kyle Forbes. He was
preceded in death by a son, Richard (Dick), and a daughter, Patricia.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630
S. Hwy 85/87 at,(.PM. A reception will follow at the Fountain Valley Senior Center, 5745 Southmoor
Dr., Fountain, CO
