James A. Nispel

James A. Nispel passed away October 16, 2010.

James was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from Regis High School in 1961. He served in the Air Force from 1963-1967 and deployed to Vietnam. He received several medals honoring his service. In 1969 James married his loving wife, Nancy. Together they raised two children: Matthew and Veronica.

In 1985 James and his family moved to Colorado Springs. Jim was deeply enamored with the beautiful landscape, particularly the Rocky Mountains. During his years in Colorado Springs Jim was an avid supporter of local sports, volunteered at Venetucci Elementary, and spent time mentoring neighborhood youth. He spent his free time traveling with his wife, golfing, cheering on horse races, and befriending the many squirrels that flocked to his yard.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters. He is survived by five siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Jim will long be remembered for his infectious laughter, twinkling blue eyes, and generous heart.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, October 22 at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. Hwy 85/87. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday October 23 at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
