François will be lovingly remembered by his son O’shea Smith, brothers: Dominique Smith, James (Susan) Smith, Jean-Pierre (Julie) Smith, Patrick (Marie) Bourgoin and Gilles Smith, his sisters: Carrine (Michael) Johnson, Armande Smith and Jennifer (Brett) Eubanks-Hotz.
He will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, who brought great joy to his life: Christopher (Michelle) Johnson, Laetitia Bourgoin, Florian Bourgoin, Isabelle Smith, Brandon Johnson, Megan McElwain, Sabin Eubanks, Scott McElwain, Ryan Smith, Ian Smith, Dominique Smith, Hannah Eubanks, Quincy Smith, Morgan Gardner, Zach Gardner, Jordan Hotz, Brooklyn Hotz, Audree Johnson (great-niece) and Ryatt Johnson (great nephew).
François was preceded in death by his loving parents: Charles and Simone Smith.
Jean François was born in Orléans, France and resided there until the age of 10. Some of his fondest memories of childhood include playing marbles on the school grounds, going on summer vacation and meals spent together with his family, particularly on Sundays, where they would last for hours.
One of François’ earliest ambitions was to become a mechanic. This ambition was fulfilled during his service in The United States Army, having served in Baltimore, MD and Ft. Benning, GA. François spent 6 years and 10 months serving before his honorable discharge. His proudest moments include driving for the post commander and earning the good conduct medal.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US HWY. 85/87 Fountain, Colorado 80817
Jean François will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a later date.
