

in his sleep. He was the 2nd son of Joseph Phillip and Ena Roselee Ryan. John was
born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 20th, 1960.
John loved to fish, camp, fish, jet ski, fish, spend time with his family and his
beloved dogs, Baby and Jet, and to fish. When John was a young man, he was
good at football, wrestling, and baseball. He graduated in 1979 from Widefield High
School. John was a veteran who joined the Army as a Communications Specialist
after high school and he was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany. John worked over 22 years in the Street
Department for the City of Fountain and in 2013 he went to work for Fountain Mutual Irrigation. He
coached his nephews, Jay and Zack and grandsons, Nick and Noah in Little League in his spare time.
In 1998 he met the love of his life, every day when he went into Loaf and Jug to get his morning coffee.
He married the love of his life, Pam Gibson, in 2000 in Colorado Springs. Even though John had no
biological children of his own, he was a father figure to his nephews and to his grandsons. John showed
them how to skateboard, jet ski, snow ski, and how to jump on the trampoline. He taught them how to
fish and daringly, how to drive. He had so much love to give and patience galore!
He is survived by his wife Pamela Ryan. His sister Cathy Garduno of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his
nephews, Jay Garduno of Vilsek, Germany and Zackary Garduno of Bethel, Vermont. His step-son,
Daniel Gibson of Temple, Texas, step-daughter, Christy Gibson of Fountain, Colorado. His two
grandsons, Nicholas Gibson of Denver, Colorado and Noah Gibson of Fountain, Colorado and his two
granddaughters, Bayli Gibson of Midland, Texas and Zoe Gibson of Lakeland, Florida. His many cousins
and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Douglas Phillip Ryan.
John will be remember for his giving nature and loving ways.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pikes Peak Church of Christ, 1402 W. Pikes Peak Avenue,
Colorado Springs, Colorado on January 7, at 11:00 am.
