Kyle Edward Murt, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and coworker, passed away on July 1, 2020 in Fountain, Colorado. Kyle was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on February 24, 1987, and was the second of two sons born to Michael and Linda Murt.
Kyle graduated from Fountain-Fort Carson High School in 2005. After graduation, he attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He worked at Texas Road House as a server, trainer, bartender and inventory specialist for 17 years.
Kyle loved to spend time with family and friends. Many of them describe him as being genuine, caring, intelligent, hilarious, sensitive, loving, compassionate, and a good listener. He was always there to listen and help out his friends. Kyle’s smile could light up a room and his sense of humor could crack a smile on anyone’s face; he always had a witty comeback for anything said to him. Kyle was truly one of a kind and will be missed tremendously.
Kyle is survived by his devoted mother, Linda Murt; caring father, Michael Murt (step-mother Marsha Beck); loving brother, Brendan Murt (Jennifer), kind nephews, Liam Murt and Aiden Giles, and adored grandmother, Susie Hook -McFann He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins whom he loved dearly. Kyle was greeted in Heaven with open arms by his grandfather Carl Hook, step-grandfather Ralph McFann (Mac), grandfather James Murt and grandmother Theresa Murt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9 from 12:00pm-3:00pm and on Friday, July 10 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S U.S Hwy 85, Fountain, CO 80817. His Celebration of Life is scheduled for Monday, July 13 at 12:30pm at the Masonic Temple in Murray Hall at 1150 Panorama Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. The hall is huge and can accommodate 250 people with social distancing. Following his Celebration of Life, a burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Due to family and friends with medically-fragile conditions, we are asking everyone to wear a mask during the visitation, the celebration of life, and at the burial grounds.
The family welcomes anyone to write a letter or note to Kyle which will be placed in a box to be buried with him. The box will be present at the visitation as well as at the Celebration of Life. Flowers can be sent to Dove-Witt Family Mortuary.
