Larry Richard Arnold, 82, passed away September 30, 2025 at Fountain, Colorado. He was the widower of Carol Joan (Lundberg) Arnold, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage. He also was preceded in heaven by his first wife, Daisy Suzanne (Johnston) Arnold, with whom he had two sons.
Born in Osborn (now Fairborn), Ohio, he was the son of James Hughie and Myrtle Marie Arnold, with two older brothers (Bob and Jim) and a younger sister (Bonnie). He lost both parents while young and was raised through his teen years by his Uncle Beck and Aunt Janet Henry. He graduated from Fairborn High School, served four years in the Air Force, and went on to obtain an associate’s degree in business/marketing. He worked as an independent distributor of dairy products for most of his career and as a real estate investor and school bus driver in “retirement”, even into his 80’s, saying, “Nowhere does the Bible talk about retiring.” He resided in Colorado Springs for 53 years.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and on the Board of Directors for the International Dance Club. He enjoyed gardening, boating, hunting, fishing, dancing, playing pickleball, and preparing huge feasts for family at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He will be remembered for his generosity, humor, hardiness, enthusiasm for life, and devotion to family, friends, and the Lord.
He is survived by his sons, Rick Arnold (wife Norine) and Scott Arnold (wife Susan).
His love is with his eight grandchildren: Samantha, Daisy, Ronnie, Brandon, Isaac, Isabel, Natalie, and Nathan; and one great-grandson: Parker.
The memorial service will be held on October 17, 2025 at 12:30 PM at First Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs. The service will be followed by a reception with light food at the church.
