Lorraine Kathleen Collier

February 7, 1924 – October 18, 2016

Lorraine Collier passed away peacefully in her home on October 18, 2016 at the wonderful age of 92. She was born

in Stanford, Montana on February 7, 1924.

Preceding her death are her parents, Herbert and Esther Baker, and her brother Herbert Waldon Baker. Lorraine was married to Carroll (John) Collier for 54 years before he passed away in 2007.

Lorraine is survived by her three children, Theresa, Chad (Jeanne) and Sandra; her two loving grandchildren, Michael and Kelly; and her brother’s family.

She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1949 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Before Lorraine was married, she worked as a social worker in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Then, she became a full time mother. Finally, she became a school aide and librarian for school District 3 for 20 years.

Lorraine loved helping children and working in her beautiful garden. Above all, she was devoted to her family and her friends, all of whom will deeply miss her ever-present smile, kindness and generosity.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11 am at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary. 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87 Fountain, CO 80817.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
