Lucille Clayton Rawlings was born on August 30, 1930 to Richard Ward and Jessie Smallwood Clayton in Utopia, Texas. She was one of ten siblings.
She graduated Utopia High School and worked at USAA in San Antonio, Texas where she met James Waverly Rawlings. They were married on July 29, 1949 and were blessed with four children. The Rawlings traveled the world with the U.S. Army for thirty years. They settled in 1967 in Colorado Springs.
Luci is survived by her son, Michael (Wendy) Rawlings and her daughter, Karen (Rick) Wiest. There are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Luci's sisters, Pat, Mary, and Hazel and brother, Jim, also survive her. There are numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Luci is remembered for her love of her family and she is blessed by many, many friends.
A private graveside service will be held, Tuesday, October 2, 2018, followed by a memorial service at Pikes Peak United Methodist Church, 2927 W. Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the church.
