Marjorie Louise Elzie (Marge) was born March 4, 1927 in Pomona, California. She joined her Savior and Lord January 14, 2019 in Fountain, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Guy Elzie and is survived by her son, David (Dena) Elzie of Yakima, Washington; her daughter Sharon (Nathan) Thompson of Fountain, Colorado, four grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Richard (Sandra) Elzie of Georgia.
Marge was a homemaker who also loved camping and visiting many national parks and historic places. She served in her church, Pomona First Baptist, by helping to lead a junior high group for 18 years, a summer program for the junior highers, and other various activities; she wasn’t phased when sometimes 150 children aged 12-15 would show up at events.
Along with a wonderful group of friends, she helped establish a furniture and clothing room ministry that she ran for almost 20 years helping to bless her community. However, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
We were two of the luckiest "kids" to have had parents who not only talked about God’s love but showed it to so many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritans Purse.
Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. Highway 85/87 in Fountain is entrusted with arrangements.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs.
