Martin Higley

Martin John Higley was born July 12, 1952 in Rigby, Idaho. Martin went home to heaven on March 20, 2023. Martin was one of seven children. Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Nelda Higley, his son Gary Higley (Rochelle Higley), his two daughters Denise Woodworth and Tiffany Whetstine (Jonathan Whetstine). Martin has left behind his grandchildren Kevin Higley, Emily Jaylyn Johansen (Scott), Garrett Scott, Elizabeth Arnold, Noah Whetstine, and Myah Whetstine. He also leaves behind 2 great-granddaughters Piper and Avi Higley. Martin and Nelda were married October 13, 1971. Martin served over 20 years in the U.S. Army. He had been stationed in Korea twice, Germany twice, Texas, Washington State and Colorado. Martin retired from the army in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1990. Martin worked as an over-the-road truck driver. Then, he delivered horses all over the country. He also worked for Transit Mix and Rocky Mountain Materials before retiring due to medical issues in 2005. During his lifetime, Martin enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. One of the things he enjoyed doing was watching westerns. Martin will be missed by his brothers, sister, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
