It is with a heavy and sorrowful heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Marvin Gene Williams, age 81, on December 22, 2025. He was the devoted and loving widower of Heide Maria Williams, with whom he shared many wonderful, memorable years of marriage filled with companionship and love.
Marvin was born on March 2, 1945, in Cañon City, Colorado, to Roy and Dixie Williams. He was a proud graduate of Florence High School and continued his education at Texas A&M University, all while honorably serving his country in the United States Army. Marvin dedicated an extraordinary 31 years of faithful military service, retiring with honor. During his distinguished career, he received several commendations, including the Purple Heart, for his courageous service during the Vietnam War.
Following his military retirement, Marvin continued his lifelong passion for aviation. He worked for Emery Flight School and later concluded his long and successful aviation career with Sikorsky Helicopters, where his experience and work ethic were deeply valued.
Marvin enjoyed a variety of quiet but meaningful hobbies. He loved fishing, reading, playing cards, and board games, and he was a particularly skilled and strategic chess player. Many fondly remember him smoking his pipe, looking thoughtful and distinguished. A man of few words, Marvin possessed a sharp, quick, and slightly dark sense of humor that often-caught people by surprise.
He was a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and enthusiastically collected Bronco’s memorabilia—eventually filling an entire room of his home. Marvin also had a deep appreciation for the Old West, enjoying western books, films, and clothing. At heart, many believed he always wanted to be a cowboy.
Marvin was a hardworking, dependable, and devoted husband and father, always willing to help—whether with the toughest homework assignment or life’s most difficult challenges. He took great pride in serving his country and lived his life with quiet integrity, discipline, and honor.
Marvin is survived by his loving children: Ellena Rinaldi, Danny Williams, and Marvin Williams; his cherished grandchildren: Ashley Williams, Erinn Williams, Cam Williams, Weston Williams, and Sophia Rinaldi; and his great-grandchildren, Calvin and Teagan Williams.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Heide Williams; his brothers, Joe and Albert Williams; his sisters, Betty and Barbara; and his parents, Roy and Dixie Williams.
A graveside service will be held on January 7, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Please meet at the cemetery entrance at 1:15 PM to follow the hearse to the gravesite.
