It is with a broken heart that Maryellen Bridges, my best friend of over 25+ years was laid to rest on February 16, 2022 in Fountain, CO.  Her celebration of life was as beautiful as the life she lived. 
We met working at Widefield School District, and immediately became like sisters, even closer than me and my blood sisters. 
We shared so many challenging and precious times together over the years, that I am struggling on how to move on without her in my life. 
Together we rallied to fight injustices, campaigned, moved our kids, worked, went to concerts, took road trips to Chicago, Utah, California, Arizona and Mexico, laughed and cried together so many days and nights it's impossible to remember them all. 
Most of all she loved her Lord, family, friends and her community. When she wasn't with family and friends, she was creating beautiful quilts to honor family members, service members, the birth of babies, weddings, anniversaries and moments special to her loved ones and friends.
She left us too soon, and we were all taken back by her passing. She is one of God's favorites, an angel here on earth. She never met a stranger, always had a smile, laugh and prayer to share. I look to the day, when I will see my best friend again, spend time laughing and exploring God's big universe together. Until that time, her spirit and love of life will be with me forever. 

Maryellen has been a wonderful friend to many, and it has been an honor to be one of those friends.  She had the most contagious laughs. She was always finding something funny about the weirdest of things.  I just loved the time I walked into her office to see her, and she was dressed for Halloween.  She says, "Guess what I am". I looked at her and said, "a funny plant?"  She started laughing and said, "Nope a Bloomin Idiot!"  I never laughed so hard.  I love Maryellen and I am going to miss you so much.

Maryellen was one who would do anything as long as it ended with quilting. We would chase yard sales for fabric ads on line for fabric and laugh when packages arrived and it would be nothing but tid-bits  of what had been described.  See Red Hat material is just lying around.  But we had fun search and when we found it we really went over board. Maryellen I love you so much and I will miss you so deeply.
