I’ve known Mike from the dialysis community since 2010 and he has been my boss at US Renal Care Pueblo since 2013. Many of the staff our dialysis clinic have worked for him for more than twenty years. Over the past several days I have heard over and over statements such as ‘he was like a second father to me’ and ‘he watched my kids grow up’. For me he was simply the hardest working man I have ever known, he also had a great sense of humor. Almost every morning when I’d come into work I’d ‘steal’ two K-cups from Mikes office and make a cup of coffee for me and one for him. Sometimes I would put to much sugar in his just to irritate him a little. Then we would sit for a few minutes and talk, but mostly we would laugh and joke around. And by laugh I mean barely catch your breath belly laughs. Mike could always crack me up. I wanted to make a YouTube channel and call it ‘stuff Mike says’ because he could be so funny. He was a great guy. The staff at USRC Pueblo misses him dearly and morning coffee at work will never be the same.

Michael, Just want to say how much we will miss your gruff voice and laughter, you were a good man , you loved your wife Angelica ,took care of your children and doted on your grandchildren . the Good Lord decided it was time to end your pain and move to your special place in Heaven . Perhaps he needed a good builder to provide more room for those who will arrive after you and he wanted one of the best.Say hello to all those who have preceded you . Michael we shall miss you always and once again we have another hole in our hearts. While there pray for us and help us during our sorrow.

I have known Michael since we were sophomores. He was a Rebel from Watson and I was a Spartan from Sproul and there were still rivalries between us. It didn't take long before we were friends and stayed friends the rest of our lives. His gruff voice made him sound opposing and yet, you couldn't fined a better friend. We were best men at each others' weddings and God parents to each others children. There aren't too many men in my life that I admired and Micheal was on top of that list. I truly wish we had spent more time together. We will always be there for Angelica and the girls. I'm going to miss you Michael!

In a blink of an eye, our lives have changed. Know that you are much loved and missed by so many people. Jason and Aaron said they lost a hero when you left us; we lost a husband, father, brother in law, friend, uncle, grandfather and one of the most hardworking people on earth that I have ever known. Your goofiness, laughter, and smile will be missed. Know that the Angelica and the girls are being strong, you would be so proud of your girls, and Angelica will always be looked after, we'll make sure of it. Knowing you are pain free and with your Dad and Denny, smoking a Salem (I know you missed that) and watching over all of us always; until we meet again.

What a great guy that worked so hard caring for other people. He will be greatly missed. I feel blessed having been able to know him and see his kindness for his staff and see how much he loved his family and grand kids. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, and grandkids.
