

Ofelia Hernandez Sanchez, known affectionately as Ofelia, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 16, 1952, in Raymondville, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Margarito and Josefa Hernandez.
Ofelia graduated from Mathis High School and dedicated many years to her career in customer service, working at Home Depot for 20 years before retiring from Kmart. She was known for her generous heart, fearless spirit, and deep love for those around her. Ofelia was renowned for her hospitality, strong work ethic, and warm kindness, always treating others with respect. Her outspoken nature and courage in standing by her firm beliefs were admired by many.
Ofelia was a devoted mother, deeply proud of her two sons, Frank Sanchez and Eddie Sanchez, and supported them unwaveringly. She leaves behind her cherished memories with her sons, as well as her sisters Olivia Mata, Margie Rivera (Ernesto), Susie Villarreal (Joe), Mary Hernandez, and Diana Flores (Joe). Ofelia is also survived by 15 nephews and 7 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Josefa T. Hernandez, her brother Manuel Hernandez, and her sister Lucy Leal.
Ofelia will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her fierce loyalty and the boundless love she gave.
Visitation will be held at Dove Witt Family Mortuary, located at 6630 S. US HWY 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817, on October 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on October 8, 2025, starting at 11:30 am. Following the service, a committal ceremony will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, at 1:00 pm.
