Ophelia Crescenciana Lente, beloved aunt, godmother, and sister, and known by many as a mother and grandmother, went peacefully to her eternal rest with our Lord Jesus on Saturday, September 25th at her home. Born in beautiful Colorado Springs in 1933, she attended St. Mary’s High School and worked for 35 years as nanny and housekeeper for the W. G. Packard family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Evangelina Romero Lente, sister Crescenciana Lente, and brother Eliseo Duran. Aunt Fee (as we lovingly called her) is survived by her niece, Cheri Anne Garduno, and nephews Anthony Garduno, Raymond Griego, Michael Griego, Anastasia Hernandez, who so lovingly cared for her during her last years of life. Aunt Fee doted on her grandnephews and nieces, Orencio, Onalycia, Alano, and baby Michael Griego, Jr. She is also survived by her sisters, Josephine Donahue, Mary Riding, Geraldine Kremelis, Esther Willcox and brothers, Antonio Lente, and Joseph Duran, as well as many nephews, nieces, and godchildren that were so loved by Ophelia and would take a volume of pages to mention all that she loved.
“Aunt Fee,” a feisty and no-nonsense matriarch of our family was respected and beloved by all who knew her.
A special thank you and appreciation to the staff at Compassus, Hospice and Palliative Care for their kind service and special attention to Ophelia. Homecare givers, Cheri Anne and Anthony Garduno for their absolute devotion and constant health care this past year. Also, a special thank you to Cathy Garduno, Rachel Garaventa and Hermina Duran for their love and support. We were blessed to be in the presence of angels
A Rosary will be held on October 15th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Domenic’s church in Fountain, Colorado; followed by a Mass and laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery along side with our mother, Evangeline.
