Oscar Gonzalez-Cruz, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado, surrounded by his family. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, February 23, 1953, the youngest of fourteen children, born to Ramon “Pedro” Rivera-Santiago and Dionicia Cruz-Rivera.
Oscar enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971 where he served in the field artillery unit, among others. After his retirement in 1993, he worked as a AutoCAD artist for several surveying and construction companies in Colorado, Florida and Pennsylvania.
Family and friends were of the utmost importance to him. He loved to golf. Also, his faith was an important part of his life. He lived for his Heavenly Father.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Anita Arlene Gonzalez; loving children, Tabitha (Chris) of Colorado Springs, Christina (Jon) of Boardman, Ohio and Fernando of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Samantha, Cory, Matthew, Jessica, Timothy and Michael; as well as a host of siblings, nieces and nephews, and his best buddy Cash, his faithful black lab.
Please join the family in the celebration of Oscar’s life for a visitation on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm and a service on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00am at Pikes Peak Christian Church 4955 Bradley Rd. There will also be a visitation from 10-10:45 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Christian Church at 4955 Bradley Road, Widefield, CO 80911.
