Dear Aunt Renate,
It's only been a few days since our last conversation. It hurts that there's no longer any contact with you, as if we've been cut off. You were always available to me. I've experienced that in all the years since we've been in touch. There was never a great distance to overcome when we wrote to each other or spoke on the phone.
You let me share in your life, which was always a welcome enrichment for me. Always humorous and full of confidence, despite sometimes difficult times. I miss you very much.
As the last sister of your brother, my father, you have now returned home. Rest in peace! Your niece Brigitte

I still remember visiting with Michelle and I was so sick. Renate tucked me in and made me feel loved and cared for. BUT, then she decided to go to the grocery store and I had never seen her leave the house. So I hopped up and said I don’t care how sick I am, I’m coming too cause I have to see this with my own eyes! She thought that was so hilarious and started telling me about all of the places she goes throughout the week, especially when it’s time to get her hair done! Never missed an appointment!

She always treated me with love and kindness and I will always remember her with love in my heart.

Such a sweet soul! She did so much for everyone.  We will truly miss her. I know she is up there with my mom as well. I am sure talking up a storm.  Love you Renate!

Where do I start, from the teenage guidance to the adult reality checks, our conversations were always holistic and real.  I am forever thankful for knowing you, and apologize for any grey hair I may have helped cause.  You were truly one of a kind, a unique, joyful soul.  Words cannot express the void that is now present, may you rest in peace Momma G.

I will forever be so grateful for such an amazing soul. You are such an amazing woman and your big heart will never be forgotten. Love you and hope you are at peace. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to love you and your daughter. Rest easy. 🙏🏻

You are leaving big shoes to fill, but I will try my best to do so. You seemed to always be there for my daughter Tiffany, in turn I will give it my best shot to be there for Michelle! You will be missed by so many as you touched all those that had the pleasure of knowing you! RIP.
