

Rose "Biddy" Glommen, the Matriarch of the Glommen family, 92, passed away of natural causes September 5, 2012. She was born July 4, 1920 on her grandfather's farm in Martinsville, Ohio and graduated from Martinsville H.S. in 1938. For the past four years she was a resident at the Parkmoor Village Healthcare Center in Colorado Springs and had previously lived on Aspen Drive in Security since 1957.
As a longtime resident of Security, Rose was extremely active in a variety of school, community and church activities. She coached boys' baseball through the Security Recreational Department, and was an avid supporter at Widefild H.S. of many sports (where she could always be heard ringing her cowbell), band, music, and theater groups in which her children participated and her granchildren and great-granchildren are still active.
In the community she was a Brownie, Girl Scout and Job Daughter's Leader, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the Eastern Star Worthy Matron in 1976 for Chapter 155 OES. An accomplished pianist, she started playing at age four and played the piano and organ for Faith Lutheran Church, in Security as well as other churches and organizations over the years.
She is survived by her seven children, Dan (Jeannie) Glommen of Winston, GA, Shirley Crouch of Miles City, MT, Suellen Glommen, Joy Hart, Tim (Carol) Glommen of Security, Penny Gayer of Sparks, NV and David (Liza) Glommen of Security. She was also blessed to have 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
"Biddy", as she was known to friends and family, was proceded in death by her husband, Adolph Glommen, Maj. USAF (Ret); a grandaughter, Michelle Baldwin, and a great grandson, Jacob Roth.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 14, at Pikes Peak Christian Church in Security. A Lucheon will follow the celebration of life in the Park Room at the church
