

Taeko Edwards, 91, of Fountain passed away peacefully at Pikes Peak Care Center on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Taeko was born September, 1925 in Japan to Mankeche and Hasako Nishina, the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by both parents and her six brothers. Taeko is survived by her three children, Ellen Edwards, Jim Edwards and Shauna Ward, along with their spouses; her step-children, Sheila Morgan and Gary Edwards, as well as two grandchildren, Joshua Pellerin and Ian Edwards.
Taeko was married to Willis Edwards in January, 1956, in Tokyo. She moved with her young family to the United States in 1957 and they eventually settled in Fountain in 1964 when her husband retired from the military. While living in New Mexico she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1961. She was zealous in her worship until dementia took it’s toll on her. She loved gardening, was always looking for ways to help others and had a great sense of humor.
Viewing will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 South Highway 85-87 in Fountain. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Fountain Friday at 10:30 AM. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 15, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8250 C & S Road in Fountain.
