Tom was the beloved husband of Barbara Neal Garrett. They were married in December 2004 in
Redlands, CA. They recently moved from California to Colorado Springs for Tom’s promotion at Beacon Building Products.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Darryl Garrett and Ellen Lee Garrett. Tom is survived by his sisters Jan (Randy) McCollam and Stacey (Alan) Freeze, and step-mother Edith Garrett. He leaves behind three daughters: Tristan, Alexandra, and Taylor Garrett, and step-daughter Jamie (Eric) Gruenewald; along with five cherished grandchildren: Kaclee, Akadian, Presley, Penelope, and Katie.
Tom was born in San Bernardino, CA, and grew up in Bend, Oregon. He played on Bend High School’s varsity baseball team, and graduated in 1981. In his youth, Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. Later in life, his interests turned towards watching NASCAR, Little League Baseball, and Raiders Football. He was also an avid golfer…he loved his GOLF!
He worked for over two decades for Harrington & Company in Salt Lake City, and had many friends, customers, and coworkers there. Tom was later hired by Beacon Building Products in San Bernardino, CA in August 2004, and developed another treasured group of work and golf buddies there as well.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US Hwy 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association (or any other charity of your choice) would be appreciated.
