

We lost our beloved Victor Michael Schaff on Feb 11, 2023. Vic was the 11th child out of 12. His parents were Anton Schaff and Rose Antone. Born May 9, 1936 in Glen Ullin, North Dakota. They lived in North Dakota, California and Montana. They were engaged in farming. Vic graduated from Moccasin High School in 1955. Married high school sweetheart, Nancy Hicks, in August 1957 and had 3 children, Shelley Shepherd, Sherry (Rick) Staatz and Shawn Schaff. He has 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He worked at Montgomery Ward in La Junta, CO as a department manager in 1963-1964 and was active in affairs of the Retail Clerks Union, Local 454 until they merged with Local 7. In 1964 he was employed as an International Representative of the R.C.L.A. until 1969 at which time he became a staff member of Local 7 as a Business Representative and Organizer. He organized Albertsons, King Soopers and Safeway. Vic attended the Rocky Mountain Labor School in Missoula, Montana, Divisional Seminar in Dallas, Texas and was elected as a delegate at International Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1973. He was a board member of Colorado Springs Labor Council and assistant to the President for the last 5 years before his retirement in Denver, 1992.
Vic was a big fisherman, loved golf, waterskiing, gardening and wood working. He was a great family man and was always having fun. He was in the Air National Guard in Great Falls, Montana and belonged to the Elks club both in Great Falls and Colorado Springs. He helped many high school kids get their first job.

A mass of christian burial for Victor will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 US 85, Colorado Springs, CO 80911.
