William Frank"Bill" Ryan, Jr., age 63, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His sudden departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and students. As a believer, he is resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord.
Born on October 30, 1962, in Colorado Springs, Bill spent his early years in the place he would one day return to and call home once again. He graduated from Campus High School in Haysville, Kansas, and shortly thereafter answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1981.
During his nearly four years of honorable service at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Bill began cultivating the mechanical and aviation skills that would shape his lifelong career.
Following his military service, Bill continued to pursue his passion for aviation and mechanics. He completed numerous courses and certifications throughout his life and earned an Associate's Degree from Spartan College. His dedication to learning was matched by a deep commitment to teaching-he found great joy in sharing his knowledge with students at Spartan College, where he made a lasting impact as an instructor.
Bill was known for his intelligence, kindness, and sense of humor. He had a remarkable ability to fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand or share a laugh. A true outdoorsman at heart, Bill loved camping and hunting. He especially cherished opportunities to go camping off-grid in the remote beauty of the Colorado mountains. He often shared breathtaking photographs of majestic mountain ranges with those close to him, capturing not only nature's grandeur but also his deep appreciation for it.
Bill is survived by his beloved son Thomas Ryan; his sisters Lou Ellen (Ralph) Acosta and Susan (Charlie) Ross; his brother John Ryan; and his Aunt Doris Gladden. He also leaves behind nieces Audrey, Ana, Katie, and Mckenna; nephews Matthew and Joshua; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Lou Ryan and father William Frank Ryan, Sr.
Bill's legacy lives on through the lives he touched -as a father, brother, uncle, teacher, veteran, and friend. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
May his love for life and nature bring comfort to all who mourn him.
A committal service with military honors will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 2pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
