

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother Beatrice Elvira Vanterpool, age 96 on February 23, 2025, at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center.
Born on April 5, 1928, in Panama, the daughter of the late Henry Cuffy and Emogene Welch. Beatrice was a woman whose love and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She lived a life filled with warmth, grace, and generosity. Beatrice cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. She was a devoted woman of God, who actively participated in services at her places of worship, Church of Holy Redeemer and Our Lady of Mercy, in Brooklyn New York. She was a proud retired Certified Nursing Assistant, who dedicated her career to compassionate patient care. Her gentle spirit, sense of humor, and strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her four daughters, two sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband Allan Vanterpool, two sons, daughter, and grandchildren.
Beatrice was a dedicated member of the Independent Universal Order of Ethiopian Mystic Masons INC, who frequently attended lodge gatherings. She was known for her love of cooking, watching her favorite tv programs/Novelas, playing card games, going on bus rides, playing lotto and the enjoyment of listening to church songs with uplifting melodies and deep spiritual meanings. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
May Beatrice Vanterpool soul rest in eternal peace. You will always be loved, and your memory will never fade.
A visitation for Beatrice will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
