She was born July 21, 1949, in Richmond, Virginia to the late Homer Russell and Eva Frances (Pate) Martin.
Brenda was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend whose kindness, warmth, and sense of humor touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
One of Brenda's greatest joys was thrifting. She loved searching for unique treasures, finding things she thought were neat, useful, or simply too good to leave behind. Whether it was something she needed or something she thought might come in handy one day, Brenda found comfort and happiness in knowing she had it. More often than not, she even had extras tucked away, just in case one broke or stopped working. Her thrifting adventures brought her joy and reflected her thoughtful nature.
When she wasn't searching for her next great find, Brenda enjoyed relaxing with her favorite television shows, caring for her beloved husband, and spending precious time with her children and grandchildren. Family was always at the center of her life and heart.
Brenda was caring, loving, and pure of heart. She deeply loved her husband, daughter, son, grandchildren, and all those she considered family and friends. She was endlessly proud of the people she loved and found great happiness in watching them grow, succeed, and find their own paths in life. Yet her love also meant she constantly worried about those closest to her. There was never a day when she did not think about her children and grandchildren, wondering how they were doing, and hoping they were safe and happy.
Anyone who met Brenda quickly discovered her remarkable ability to make people laugh. No matter how difficult the day had been, she could brighten a room with her humor, kindness, and caring spirit. Her presence brought comfort, happiness, and a sense of belonging to those around her.
Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She will be remembered not only for the joy she brought into the lives of others, but also for the genuine care she showed every person she loved.
We all love you, Brenda. Life will never be the same without you. Those you left behind miss you deeply, and your absence will always be felt in our hearts.
Although we will always miss you, and a small part of each of us will forever carry the sadness of your loss, everyone whose life you touched will continue living life to the fullest, grateful and thankful for the blessing of having such a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, and friend in our lives. Your love will remain with us always, guiding us, comforting us, and reminding us how fortunate we were to have known you.
Survived by her husband Sebastian Roa; one son, Steven Christopher; one daughter, Tammy Torres; one brother, Russell Martin and two grandsons: Pedro Torres and Orlando Torres.
There will be a private viewing for family only and a celebration of life at a later date.
