

She was born on July 9, 1942, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Bruggink) Alessi. Carol worked in several roles throughout her life, including at the Boy Scouts and the Douglas College bookstore, before finishing her career in real estate, where she later retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leon.
She is survived by her three daughters, Tammy J. Razzano (Neil) of Fredericksburg, VA, Michelle L. Taylor (Mike) of Spotsylvania, VA, Danielle J. Volosin (James) of Salem, AL; Lori Murray “Brown Baby” and Stacy Kafka who she loved as her daughter’s; one sister, Joan Harteveld of Orange County, VA; one brother, Joseph Alessi of Oxford, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren and her lifelong devoted friend Joyce Bitzer.
Carol cherished being a mother and took great pride in her family. She also devoted time to her faith, serving as a Sunday school teacher at the Dutch Reformed Church of Highland Park, where she was a longtime member.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00pm with Tom Hinnefeld officiating.
Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 NJ 27, North Brunswick, NJ.
