Catherine Elizabeth Charlesen
March 13, 1924 – March 29, 2017

Born March 13, 1924 in St. Marys, PA, Catherine was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Haberberger Lenze.
She was married to Harry J. Charlesen for 73 years. She was a homemaker and an Army wife for 24 years and moved her household 30 times during Harry’s various assignments. She went to high school in St Marys, Pa. and took courses at the University of Alaska. While in Alaska she worked with Girl Scouts and handicapped children in the Fairbanks area.
Catherine and Harry moved to Brockway in 1968 where she was a member of the Brockway Presbyterian Church and served by assisting her husband in his church duties.
She was a life member of the Brockway Area Historical Society and a member of the Mengle Memorial Library.
Catherine enjoyed ceramics, painting, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Paszkiewicz of Fredericksburg, VA and her son Harry and his wife, Debbie of Reinholds, PA, two sisters, Walburga Koval of Canton, PA and Helen Ericson of Delray Beach, FL and four brothers Paul of Apple Valley, CA, Fred of Ridgway, PA, Theodore of Anderson, IN, and Vincent of St. Marys, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister Anna DiQuinzio, and five brothers John, Albert Jr., Edward, George, and Michael, and a son-in-law Robert G. Paszkiewicz.
A memorial service will be held on Apr. 22 at the Brockway Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Brockway Area Historical Society P.O. Box 73, Brockway, PA 15824.
